Farlam Hall is situated 12.5 miles South East of Carlisle on the A689 Brampton to Alston road.

The main North South Motorway, The M6 is only 10 miles to Junction 43 if travelling North or Junction 44 if travelling South. 15 to 20 minutes drive to either junction.

Except Carlisle all of the above have regular international flights.
Newcastle has excellent links with London Stanstead, Heathrow and Gatwick and other U.K. desitnations. Also car hire is at the airport and the link to the Metro and central Newcastle is inside the terminal.

Collection by car from any of the airports is easily arranged. Approximate prices are £75.00 from Newcastle and Glasgow, Edinburgh and Manchester from £150.00.

If using a private 'plane then a pick up from Carlisle is easy. If arriving by helicopter we must know in advance for advice on local procedures but free landing in our walled garden is available.
Carlisle Airport has both Jet A and 100LL. available 09.00 to 18.00 local.

Trains.

Carlisle Station is 12 miles away and served by the Virgin West Coast line from Euston. Times now are approximately 3.5 to 4.00 hours. Taxis are available outside the station.
Brampton Junction is on the Carlisle to Newcastle line and is only 1.5 miles away but has limited services. If you do choose to arrive this way please let us know in advance as it is just a halt with no staff, telephone or taxis.
