In spite of it being a very mild Winter
locally we are all now fed up with the grey skies and rain. This is
VERY selfish of us as compared to the south of England we have been
extremely lucky with virtually no storm damage at all. Our bottom lawn
seems to be even more soggy than ever but fingers crossed it will recover
in the Summer.
While we were closed in January we decorated several bedrooms and have
altered one of the ground floor rooms to make it easier for people
who prefer a walk in shower to a bath. This room used to have a huge,
four poster bed which was lovely but so high it was difficult to get
in and out of. This has now gone and a conventional king size bed is
in its place making the room much lighter and larger. If you would

The restaurant is only open at lunchtime for pre-booked parties of
10 or more and on special occasions – two of which are very
The first is Mother’s Day on Sunday March 30th followed by Easter
Sunday April 20th 2014. On both days lunch will served at 1.00pm and
will be £40.00 per person, inclusive of V.A.T.
On March 30th we are offering our “After Lunch” rate of £85.00
per person. This rate includes any two courses from the normal dinner
menu, room, full English breakfast and V.A.T. It is only available
if you have had lunch with us.
This year we will not be holding a Spring Brunch. None of the dates
were suitable as have all sorts of events booked by guests – but
all being well we will be holding one in late Autumn.
Over Easter and the two May Bank Holidays we are once again offering
our Three Day Bank Holiday Break. At least one day of your stay must
include Saturday, Sunday or Monday of the holiday weekend. This means
that you may arrive any time between the Wednesday before the weekend
up to and including the holiday Monday.
The rate includes each day a light afternoon tea, dinner, room, full
English breakfast and V.A.T. Also a bottle of house champagne on the
day of your choice.
The rates are for two people sharing a double room for the three
nights and are £705.00 in a standard room, £825.00 in a medium
room and £885.00 in a superior room.
We do hope that you will find an excuse to come and visit us. We serve
morning coffee and homemade biscuits, a light or full afternoon tea
and dinner every day. For the full tea we require 24 hours advance
booking and we do prefer advance booking for dinner.
