Happy Days

Now that the days are longer and lighter hopefully everyone will be thinking of taking a holiday. With the volcanic ash cloud causing havoc, oil spills making a mess and political uncertainty in some countries this must be the ideal year to explore our wonderful country.

There is so much and so little to do here at Farlam. If you just want to be lazy and enjoy the house and garden then there is no need to leave the grounds. If you fancy some beauty treatments we are able to organize excellent local therapists to come to the hotel to pamper you.

If you are of an active disposition then the local area offers everything from walking, golf, river swimming, mountain biking and bird watching. A growing number of people are also enjoying kite flying up on the fells where there is always a breeze.

Last summer we introduced some special rates for children to help with the holiday plans. These were so popular that we have decided to offer them all the time.

The first is that for children from the age of five to sixteen when sleeping in an extra bed as the third person in a room, the only charge will be for meals as taken.
The second change to the tariff is that for children of this age when sleeping in their own room there will be a 50% reduction off the normal rates.

Hopefully this will help families who are thinking of a “Staycation”.

The other change here at Farlam is that we have been granted a licence to hold civil services for numbers between 10 and 45. We have always held small wedding receptions and were being asked more often if we were able to organize the whole day. We have absolutely no desire or intention to become a wedding venue and hold large functions here which can be very disruptive to other guests but we will hopefully now be able to look after couples for the whole of their special day.

We have also always specialised in exclusive use for celebrations and feel that Farlam is the perfect choice for small parties as we are able to sleep up to 24 guests.
